If any member of staff or trainee has a grievance in any matter concerning the college it is important that the matter is dealt with as soon as possible. If a member of staff cannot deal with the problem then one of the Principals is to be informed as soon as possible. The Principal in question will follow through the problem in order that a solution may be found. For trainees on a Learning and Skill Council sponsored course, if no solution can be found then the Learning and Skills Council will be the next point of contact in order to resolve the situation.
In the event of a complaint that can not be solved with Paignton Sec Info Tech Training Centre Ltd, if the issue concerns Apprenticeships then the learner should contact LSC on 0845 0194155.
In exceptional circumstances, if you find yourself in a disagreement with your Assessor concerning you assessment, you have the right to refer the matter to;
If you intend to refer the matter to the OCR External Verifier, it will be helpful if you have written the details relating to the appeal prior to the External Verifiers visit to the centre. This will enable him/her to refer the matter to the Chief Verifier if he/she feels it to be necessary.
In extreme circumstances, if you feel the External Verifier has been unable to bring the matter to a satisfactory conclusion, even after a referral to the Chief Verifier, then you may appeal in writing directly to OCR.
OCR will accept an appeal from a candidate only after the above steps have been taken. A fee is charged by OCR for this procedure which must be enclosed with your application form.
For further information and a Candidates Appeal form, write to The Director of Operations, at OCR’s Coventry office.
